The Lenten Devotions
in our Church

 

With so much international strife, national economic worries and individual challenges, we need a bit of silence and inward spiritual reflection. We need a Lenten season!




THE HOLY SEASON OF LENT is a time for meditation preparing us to celebrate the Easter Mystery. The liturgy is quietened: we do not say or sing the ‘Glory to God’, nor the ‘Alleluia’: these we ‘save up’ to sing with all the more joy at Easter. The Mass vestments and Tabernacle curtains are now purple – penitential, but also the Royal Purple of Kings.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be recited in our Church throughout Lent after 5.00pm Mass on Fridays.
